Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA)

The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) is an interactive ministry, dedicated to the multitude of Indian Nationals settled abroad. Established in May 2004 as the Ministry of Non-Resident Indians' Affairs, it was renamed as the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) in September 2004. Driven by a mission of development through coalitions in a world without borders, MOIA seeks to connect the Indian Diaspora community with its motherland. Positioned as a 'Services' Ministry, it provides information, partnerships and facilitations for all matters related to Overseas Indians (comprising Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) .

The Ministry of External Affairs is the nodal Ministry for foreign relations and foreign policy of the Government of India. It is tasked with protection of India’s national interests at home and abroad, on a wide variety of issues, ranging from political and economic cooperation to culture and people to people ties. It deals with all bilateral relations with other States and multilateral fora such as the UN. It is also the primary Ministry for extending consular and passport facilities to Indians and foreigners, both in India and abroad.

National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organization set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education. In addition to research, development, training, extension, publication and dissemination activities, the NCERT is an implementation agency for bilateral cultural exchange programmes with other countries in the field of school education. The NCERT also interacts and works in collaboration with the international organizations, visiting foreign delegations and offers various training facilities to educational personnel from developing countries.

Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay and Dr. Kapila Vatsyayan, it functions as an autonomous organization under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Government of India. At the philosophical core of the CCRT lies a commitment to holistic education, encompassing the cognitive, emotional and spiritual development of children. To this end the CCRT conducts education grounded in cultural knowledge and understanding as conducive to clarity, creativity, independence of thought, tolerance and compassion.

National Institute for Smart Government (NISG), is a not-for-profit company incorporated in 2002 on a Public-Private-Partnership model, with the primary objective of attracting private participation in the area of e-Government in India.

As per the constitution of NISG, Government of India, NASSCOM and IL&FS are key stakeholders. NISG is being shaped as an institution of excellence in the area of e-Governance with focus on developing appropriate Strategic Planning in the e-Government sector, providing Consultancy Services in Program Development and Management and Capacity Building at the national level. NISG acts as the think tank in the core areas of e-Government related to drawing up the e-Government Roadmaps at National and State levels, planning of core projects and giving an impetus to the capacity building efforts across the country.
